Tourists
The Maltese Cross cut gemstone would be a beautiful souvenir to take after you visit the Maltese Islands.
Businessmen/Corporate
This gift would make a very professional approach towards your clients, especially if presented in the form of Cufflinks or Tie pins. Whereas other gifts
..like books, are normally left on the shelves and forgotten, the "Maltese Cross cut" Gemstone could be worn and carried all the time.
Organisations
For organisations or specialist groups with Historical, Philanthropical or Cultural foundations, this precious gemstone bearing the Maltese Cross would make the perfect gift - sealing in it over 800 years of colourful history.
Relatives Overseas
For those who live distantly from their friends and relatives here in Malta, this gift would surely be much appreciated and because it could be worn and carried all the time, all the wonderful memories of Malta would never be forgotten.

... the Stone setters
The stone must be set in a position so that the arms of the Maltese Cross lie in a North-South and West-East direction.
Ideally the stone is set in a claw setting held by the smallest number of prongs - four are sufficient. This allows light to pass through the setting, thus enhancing the brilliance of the stone.
The stone can also be mounted in an octagonal frame and secured at the back by a ring which can be glued.( I have various samples of this type of setting which you might want to see.) It is important that enough light is allowed to penetrate to get the best effect of the Maltese Cross
